Summary
:
Table 1 shows that since Independence,
there has been an overall growth
in the number of textile mills and the employment generated
by them.
While the spinning mills have registered a three-fold increase
in the number
of spindles, the number of looms has actually decreased. Rotors,
which came on the scene post-1975, have registered a 70-fold
increase in number.
